About Me

Let me start off by saying I have absolutely no training.  I got drawn in to cooking and experimenting in the kitchen by my mother.  This isn’t to say that my mother insipired me with her kitchen love, no, she inspired me with her kitchen hate.  We had a weekly rotation of the same meals and leftovers, never anything different, and never made with love unless it was the baking.  I myself didn’t start even trying to cook until college.  Yes, laugh, I sure did! The only thing I had ever cooked before college was mac and cheese and sandwiches!  But I caught the cooking bug just after having my first baby girl, and I am running with it as far as my legs will take me!

I’m a 27 year old wife and mother of a two.  I like Guild Wars, musicals, Hannibal Lector, some random television shows and wine.  I love the writing of Timothy Findley, and I love to explore.  My children are 2, and 5 years of age, both girls and they are my biggest food critics!  I’m not the best chef, but I know what its like to have to feed a family on a budget and scavenge the pantry cupboards for something feasible and tasty for the kids.  So I love my recipes to be short and simple.     I also love to bake, but if I baked as much as I want to, I would be stuck eating it all by myself.

I live in the big city, I do a lot of summer cottaging.

My main hobby is photography, and I have no doubt in my mind that my children are the most photographed children in the world.  My favorite things to photograph are mostly landscapes, flora, bodies of water, that kind of stuff.
