Picture of the day!

Almost that time of year to start my dreams of berry picking, picnics and general warm weather fun! Just grabbing a snack of yummy strawberries, then I’m off to mash the sweet potatoes for my gnocchi.

Picture of the day!

It was so amazingly beautiful outside.  I couldn’t just waste the day indoors with the little monsters I call my kids.  So, my mother came over and we took a walk to their house and sat outside, had lunch, talked, drank tea, and then walked back to my house together.  It was so nice.  Family is something that is far overlooked and taken for granted.  I hope that I appreciate my own current immediate family more when I lose the crazies, but for now they’re just going to have to cope with my sliding mental capacity.

Today’s photo!

My moms garden, as anyone who has seen it would tell you, is something to truly behold.  She has honed her skills and practiced over so many years she has it near flawless.  She even has all her blooms set up so that there is constantly flower coming in and going out.  Not once, even in the winter, does she have a bare garden.   Most mornings, she’ll go outside and while fussing through her plants, find a few branches here or stalks there and make a small flour arrangement inside the house to remind us of the wonderment and beauty there is outside.  I know gardening is nowhere near my forte, though I used to think cooking was not as well.  I can only imagine how hard it must be for her to put such unending care and work in to these plants that can only give her a feeling of nature and colour.    What else is there to make us feel good all day through though?  Seeing such beauty and colour first thing in the morning truly does make the day a little easier to get through.

Pic of the day:

Yes, yet another post for today.  And you can be assured there will be another later.   Todays picture of the day!

Spring has sprung

It is a GORGEOUS day outside and I am so excited that spring is finally here.  Though I know winter wasn’t too spectacular, I still love the Idea of the warmth and the blooms.  I was able to step out today briefly to snap a few pictures of the nature beginning in my front yard.  Now I must return to the two naked babies crawling around my floor.

Project 365

So i’ve stalled enough on project 365 i’m going to try again.  Yes, expect this start-stop to go on all 365.

Memoirs of a Sickie

This is 1/5th of the Kleenex mountain on my computer desk.  The rest has been regularly chucked.  I am sick.  I hate sick. Tomorrows picture will be on Sunday because I will most likely take it during my birthday party!

I’m back! now what day is it

I have no idea so lets call it…. day 34!

Today was a snow day for the girls.  Emmalee made a snow-tree-carrotface thing.  She had fun.  I documented it.  Then she fell asleep on the couch and I had to carry her to her room. Excitingggg!

day 30, one month down.

Self- portraiture

Not a real word.  I know.  But I’ve had nothing else to work with today.  Self portraits are not exactly easy, especially when you don’t have a tripod.  Awkward handling.  My life is boring right now so I can’t really say much.  Tomorrow i’m spending the night at the ultra-sexy harbourcastle hotel on the waterfront.  I’ll have lots to work with then!

day 27 2010

I skipped a day, so sue me..

Mr. Robert Munsch!

My daughter had an exciting day. She met Robert Munsch! He’s a childrens book writer, one of my favorites as a kid.   He wrote things like Thomas’ snow suit,  Paperbag princess, Love you forever, and many many more.  I wanted to go, but there wasn’t room for me.  Oh well.  She got her book autographed!
